«Dear Colleague,
The Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) offers 2 PhD Scholarships for 4 years, starting in September 2010. The yearly amount of the stipend is around 15.000 €.
We look for students who graduated after 2006 and who aim at enrolling at the PhD program in Economics at University of Barcelona. We prefer candidates holding a Master in Economics (or a DEA, for Spain) by the summer of 2010.
The successful candidates will develop their research under the supervision of IEB researchers belonging to the Research Programs “Fiscal Federalism” (Heads: Prof. Albert Solé-Ollé & Prof. Núria Bosch-Roca) and “Cities and Innovation” (Heads: Prof. Elisabet Viladecans and José García). We expect candidates to have interest in the research topics covered by these programs: Fiscal Federalism, Political Economy, Economics of Taxation and Public Economics, in the first program, and Urban Economics and Economics of Innovation, in the second one.
The IEB provides an excellent research-oriented environment, as it regularly organizes research events such as seminars, workshops and summer schools. The candidate will be encouraged to actively participate in all these events.
Applications should be submitted to ieb.calls@ub.edu before May 30th (at the latest) indicating, in the title of the message, ‘Application to Doctoral Scholarship’. You will be informed of the committee's decision by the end of the second week of June.
Full details of the application are provided in the attached document. For further information, please visit http://www.ieb.ub.edu/ or send an e-mail to ieb.calls@ub.edu.
Feel free to distribute this information among those colleagues you think might be interested.Best regards, Albert Solé-Ollé
