«We are pleased to announce the 7th International Conference on Virtual Cities and Territories (7VCT) which will be held at the Nova University of Lisbon on October 11th to 13th, 2011.
Following the core themes of former editions, this 7VCT will focus on the application of new technologies to planning and management of urban areas and to the design and implementation of spatial policies. Urban modeling and spatial analysis, virtual and augmented realities, GIS and remote sensing, housing and land policies, governance and innovation in planning, are some of the key topics for next year’s edition.
7VCT will also host the final conference of the COST Action TU0602 “Land Management for Urban Dynamics”, in a special Theme track of its own. Some of the presentations will be dedicated to public diffusion of the results deriving from the Action.

The 7VCT is co-hosted by e-Geo, the Centre for Geographical and Regional Planning Studies, Nova University of Lisbon, and by the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Coimbra, with the participation of COST – European Cooperation in Science and Technology, and ACIV – Association for the Development of Civil Engineering.
