«Call for Abstracts to the 12th World Conference on Transport Research
Lisbon 11-15 July 2010
The XII World Conference on Transport Research will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 11 to 15 July 2010, and its preparations are well under way. The Society and the organizers expect to welcome many hundreds of participants to a memorable conference, and are doing their best to make it happen.
Prof. José Viegas, Conference Director of WCTR 2010, and Prof. Rosário Macário, Vice-Chairperson of the Local Organizing Committee of WCTR 2010 would like to invite you to submit abstracts for papers to be presented at this Conference.
The Society has decided on some important changes for the handling of submissions with the purpose of, simultaneously encouraging presentations from the whole world and their discussion in a multi-cultural setting, and promoting the presentation of high quality papers for which a “fast-track” channel for publication in some of the most reputed scientific journals in the Transportation field will be available.
The key innovation is that authors must declare, after being informed their abstract was approved, whether they want their full paper reviewed or not.
Papers to be reviewed will need to be submitted by 1st February 2010. Accepted papers will be published in the selected proceedings of the Conference, and those rated as very good will be submitted to journals and eligible for the award of prizes. Negotiations are currently being held with the Editorial Boards of several of the leading journals in order to open a fast-track for review and possible publication of the papers endorsed by the WCTR 2010.
Papers which are not to be reviewed will not need to be submitted until 26th April 2010, thus giving more time to complete reports of work in progress. They will be included in the full CD of Conference Papers, and will be presented alongside reviewed papers.
Abstract submission for all papers must be done electronically (upload) through our site: http://www.wctr2010.info/ not later than 15th September 2009. Decisions on abstracts will be announced by 26th October 2009. Authors invited for submission of full paper should indicate their preference for review / no review of the full paper by 16th November 2009.
All information regarding the Topics in which papers can be submitted, as well as the calendar for the various phases of paper processing, the conditions for participation and eligibility for prizes is available on the website.
We look forward to welcoming you in Lisbon.»
